Honda cg125 modifications and installation

How to fix this or that. Or adjust those and the others.

Honda cg125 modifications and installation

Postby zaxcvr » Fri Mar 16, 2012 5:24 am

Hi everyone,
I just got a small little question or maybe questions that I know many people should know, I am getting an Honda cg125 2005 model and in extremely good conditions (under 10k miles). what I want to do is to slightly modify the look and (in a way) the feel of the bike by changing and adding some part to it.

note: some people may find this pointless and may suggest getting a larger bike and I will get a larger bike in the near future, but I still want to keep this one because its reliability. so if I want to keep this bike, I feel I must make it my own (as everything else I have).

Also, I don't trust someone else to modify the bike for me (even if he is professional), sadly, my cousin was a victim of a fraud. so I want to be able to do my own modifications and repairs, I'll be thankful if anyone could suggest me a good site or any other resources where I can learn from.

For now, I want to change the bike's exhaust and I want to do it myself...

1 - What are your recommendations for a new exhaust?
2 - What drawback will this installation generate?
3 - How can this be accomplished (installed)?

Also...
4 - What modifications would you guys recommend for this bike? (aesthetically)

Many Thanks guys...

as far as i know there is no performance parts for the cg as i found out with mine. to get a new exhaust you will have to make one or get someone to make one for you. i drilled some holes in the airbox and got my head ported and polished and that made a big difference. as for the cosmetics you could always buy some paint for the spokes/rest of the bike for that custom look hope this helped

I see, but ain't there place where I can buy one already made? I know this model is discontinuated but at least something through the interent or any shop. i've being searching but nothing so far... well, I like this bike and even if I get a larger bike, I will still use this one at times, its just freaking cheap...

anyway, thanks mate, I really apreciate it!!!

like i said there's no aftermarket performance parts for these bikes when i had mine my local custom exhaust place quoted me 100 for just the front pipe then i had to get a slip on end can. you could always get a 200cc engine to put in it but its more hassle than its worth. hope this helps
